How to use the Raffle Wheel

The Raffle Wheel draws one or more winners from your entries, where every entry is a ticket. Here's how tickets, draws and redraws work.

Quick start

  1. Add participants: one name per line, or separated by commas. Each entry is one raffle ticket, so add a name twice to give it two entries.
  2. Choose the number of winners, and whether a person can win only once (Unique winners).
  3. Press Draw winner 1. The winning ticket is chosen at random before the wheel moves, then the wheel lands on it.
  4. Draw the next winner, and the next, until the raffle is complete. Then copy the winner list.

Every entry is a ticket

Each line in the list is one ticket. Bought three tickets? Add the name three times and they get three times the chance. The summary shows the tickets and people at a glance.

The number of winners, the Unique winners switch and the ticket summary

With Unique winners on (the default), a person can win only one prize. Their extra tickets still raise their chance of winning that first prize, but once they win, the rest of their tickets are out of the draw.

Draw the winners one by one

Set the number of winners, then spin once per prize, like a real raffle: Winner 1 of 3, then Draw winner 2, then Draw winner 3. Tickets that can no longer win are greyed out on the wheel. If a winner can't claim, Remove & redraw takes them out of the raffle and draws that place again; the earlier result stays on the list, marked redrawn, so everyone can see what happened.

Copy the results

When every prize is drawn, the panel lists the winners in order. Copy winners puts the list on your clipboard; Start new raffle clears it for next time.

Is the raffle wheel fair?

Yes. Every eligible ticket has an equal chance. The winning ticket is chosen with your browser's secure random number generator before the wheel starts turning, using a method that avoids the small bias simpler shortcuts can introduce. The spin only reveals the result; it can't be nudged.

FAQ

How do I give someone more entries?

Add their name more than once. Each entry is one ticket.

Can one person win more than once?

Only if you turn Unique winners off and they have more than one ticket.

How many winners can I draw?

From 1 to 20, as long as there are enough people (or tickets, with Unique winners off).

What does Remove & redraw do?

It takes that winner out of the raffle and draws the same prize again. The earlier result stays on the list marked redrawn.

Can I change the entries during a raffle?

No, they're locked so the odds stay the same for every draw. Start a new raffle to edit them.

Is my raffle saved?

Your entries and settings stay on this device. The draw itself lasts for this visit, so copy the winners before you close the page.
