How to use the Giveaway Wheel

The Giveaway Wheel picks fair winners for a contest: one entry per person, unless you choose otherwise. Here's how entries, options and redraws work.

Quick start

  1. Paste your entrants, one per line: names, @handles or entry IDs. Duplicates are counted once unless you allow multiple entries.
  2. Choose how many winners you need. Each entrant can win only once unless you allow repeat winners.
  3. Press Draw winner 1. The winner is chosen securely before the wheel moves, and the wheel lands on them.
  4. Draw the next winner until the giveaway is complete, then copy the winner list.

One entry per person

Paste your entrants, one per line. If someone appears twice, they're counted once and the summary says how many duplicates were set aside. Remove duplicates from list tidies the list itself.

Two rules you can change

  • Allow multiple entries: repeat entries count as extra chances, for giveaways where people can enter more than once.
  • Allow repeat winners: the same person can win more than one prize.

Both are off by default, which is what most giveaways need.

Draw, redraw, copy

Spin once per winner. If a winner doesn't meet your rules, Redraw winner replaces them and marks the original as replaced. At the end, Copy winners gives you the list for your announcement.

Running it live

Name your giveaway at the top, for example 1,000 Followers Giveaway, then press the fullscreen button. The title, the wheel, the current draw (Winner 2 of 3) and each result are shown large, which works well for screen sharing, livestreams and projectors.

Fair and transparent

Each eligible entrant has an equal chance unless multiple entries are on. Winners are picked with your browser's secure random number generator before the wheel starts turning, and replaced winners stay visible on the list, so your audience can see exactly what happened.

The giveaway uses the same wheel as the homepage, so fullscreen, sounds and spin videos work here too. The full wheel guide explains them with pictures:

FAQ

Does the giveaway wheel remove duplicate entries?

Yes, by default each entrant counts once, and the summary shows how many duplicates were removed. Turn on Allow multiple entries if your rules give extra entries.

Can I pick more than one winner?

Yes, from 1 to 20 winners, drawn one at a time with a visible spin for each.

Can the same person win twice?

Not by default. Turn on Allow repeat winners if your giveaway allows it.

What if a winner isn't eligible?

Press Redraw winner. The same prize is drawn again and the original result stays on the list marked replaced.

Can I import comments from Instagram or YouTube?

Not yet. Copy your eligible entrants from wherever you collected them and paste them in, one per line.

Can I use it on a livestream?

Yes. Give it a title and go fullscreen: the title, the wheel, the current prize and the winner are shown large for your audience.
